Account and billing
Credits and billing
What spends credits, how they are held and charged, where they come from, the plans on offer, and how to manage your subscription.
Making videos and images spends credits. Most of what Svay does is free. Your balance is always shown at the bottom of the sidebar, and it turns amber when it runs low. Press it to open Credits & billing (“Choose a plan, add credits, and manage payment details.”). Everyone sees the balance; only owners can change plans, buy credits or manage billing.
What spends credits
Section titled “What spends credits”| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| A video | 200, plus 5 for each second of video. Add 20 for each second of a generated presenter, 75 per 1,000 characters of voice, 3 per second of music, 10 per generated B-roll image and 25 per second of generated B-roll video, when the video uses them. See Create a video. |
| A shot change on a finished video | Up to 50 |
| A single image | 10 |
| A carousel | 25 |
| A creative set | 10, plus 3 per frame (a 10-frame set is 40) |
| An image revision, variant or re-render | 5 |
Free, and never counted against your balance:
- Chatting with svay
- Writing posts and captions, and the weekly content plan
- Publishing and scheduling
- Email campaigns (sends count against a monthly send allowance instead)
- Research and strategy
- Editing a video on the preview (moving, resizing, retyping)
- Meetings (these count against a monthly time allowance instead, see Meetings)
- Creating an avatar or cloning a voice in Presenters, and ads (Meta bills ad spend directly)
How credits are held and charged
Section titled “How credits are held and charged”Svay shows you the most a video can cost before it starts: “up to N credits”. When you approve:
- Svay holds that amount. The credits are reserved, not spent.
- When the video is delivered, you are charged for it. If the result is shorter than quoted, the presenter and music are charged for the length delivered; voice and B-roll keep their quoted price.
- If the run fails or you cancel it, the whole hold is released.
Images work the same way in spirit: credits are taken when generation starts and returned automatically if it fails.
Nothing is charged for something that did not arrive.
Where credits come from
Section titled “Where credits come from”- Your plan, every month. Each monthly payment adds that plan’s allowance on top of what you have left.
- Top-ups. Buy more at any time on Credits & billing: one pack is 1,000 credits for A$12, up to 500 packs per purchase. Top-ups need an active plan unless standalone purchases are switched on for your account, and the page says which applies.
- A starting balance. A new workspace starts at zero.
Credits never expire and always roll over. Subscription credits accumulate up to 500,000; credits you buy as top-ups are outside that cap. When you spend, subscription credits are used first.
Running out
Section titled “Running out”If a video or image needs more credits than you have, nothing starts and nothing is charged. Svay shows You’re out of credits: “That needs 500 credits and you have 120. Nothing was started, and you haven’t been charged.” Choose Buy credits or See my balance.
Plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars, including GST where it applies.

Growth comes in three credit sizes, so pick the one that fits your volume. For Enterprise, press Talk to Sales to book a call. A plan card only offers checkout when its price is live, so if a card is greyed out, contact support.
Subscribe, upgrade and downgrade
Section titled “Subscribe, upgrade and downgrade”- Open Credits & billing as an owner.
- Choose a plan card. A new subscription opens a secure Stripe Checkout.
- After payment, you return to Svay: Payment received, then Credits added once the allowance lands.
- Upgrading pays the prorated difference and adds the extra credits straight away (“Upgrade paid. N credits added.”).
- Downgrading takes effect at your next renewal (“Downgrade scheduled for renewal. Your current features and existing credits are preserved.”).
- Closing checkout without paying charges nothing: “No payment was made”.
Credits are added when Stripe confirms the payment, not when you land back on the page. If you see “Confirming your payment”, give it a moment.
Manage billing
Section titled “Manage billing”Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can update your card, see and download invoices, and change or cancel your subscription.
If a subscription lapses, plan features such as extra seats, channels, ads and meetings stop applying, and your credit balance is kept. For billing questions, including refunds, contact support.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“That needs N credits and you have M.” Buy a pack, upgrade, or wait for your monthly allowance. Choose a shorter video to need fewer.
“Team limit reached…” or “An active plan is required to add teammates.” See Team and roles.
“This feature is not included in your active plan.” Ads and meetings are included on Pro and Enterprise, not on Growth.
My top-up has not appeared. Credits are added when payment clears. Wait a minute and reload.
I cannot see plans or billing. Billing is owner-only. Ask a workspace owner.
Upgrade awaiting payment confirmation. Stripe has not confirmed yet. Your current plan stays available and the credits arrive after confirmation.
