Review and publish
Publishing and scheduling
Approve what Svay made, then publish or schedule videos, images, carousels and posts to your connected channels.
- Editors and owners
Before anything publishes
Section titled “Before anything publishes”Three things have to be true:
- The content is finished. A video run has succeeded, and an image set has no failed frames.
- A person has approved it. See Review and edit a video.
- The destination account is connected on Integrations. See Supported channels.
Approving is not publishing. Approving records that you cleared the work. Publishing is always a separate, deliberate step.
Publish a video
Section titled “Publish a video”Open the approved video, choose the channel or channels, and fill in the copy. Svay can draft it for you.
| Channel | Fields | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | Video title, Description | 100 and 5,000 characters |
| Caption | 2,000 characters | |
| Post text | 2,000 characters | |
| X | Post text | 280 characters |
Under When to publish, choose Post now or Schedule, then pick a date and time. A scheduled time must be in the future.
Your edits to the video are saved to its draft as you make them. If you edited on the preview, the video file that includes those edits is produced when you schedule it. While that happens, the item shows as Processing on the Calendar. If processing fails, press the retry icon (tooltip Retry processing), or Retry processing on the Calendar: your schedule is kept.
Publish an image or carousel
Section titled “Publish an image or carousel”On the canvas, press Publish. Choose where each post goes, fill in the captions (or use Auto-fill empty fields), choose Post now or Schedule, then press Publish N posts or Schedule N posts. Publish is disabled while any frame has failed. See Images and carousels.
Publish a text post
Section titled “Publish a text post”In Creative Space → Text, press the Schedule button for the selected channel (for example Schedule LinkedIn) to open Publish post. Choose Post now or Schedule post. Posts over the channel’s limit cannot be scheduled: see Text posts.
Change or cancel a schedule
Section titled “Change or cancel a schedule”Open the scheduled item on the Calendar.
- Reschedule: drag it to a new day, or open it and press Save time. Move all moves every channel’s time at once.
- Cancel: open the item, select the trash icon (Delete schedule) and confirm. A cancelled item leaves the calendar.
- Retry a failure: a failed publish can be retried.
An item can be rescheduled until it starts sending. A post that is mid-send asks you to wait for confirmation before editing it, and a post that has already gone out cannot be edited.
If a post fails
Section titled “If a post fails”Svay shows a short, specific reason, and where reconnecting would help it offers a Reconnect button.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| ”Your LinkedIn connection has expired. Reconnect LinkedIn in Integrations.” | Reconnect that account. |
| ”LinkedIn did not allow this. Reconnect LinkedIn in Integrations and approve every requested permission.” | Reconnect and tick every permission. |
| ”LinkedIn is limiting how fast we can post. Wait a few minutes and try again.” | Wait, then retry. |
| ”LinkedIn could not complete that. Please try again in a few minutes.” | Retry later. |
| ”LinkedIn requires a caption and this item has none.” | Add a caption to the carousel. |
(The platform name changes to match the channel that failed.)
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The publish button is unavailable. The content is not approved or finished, or the destination is not connected.
“Connect a YouTube account in Settings first.” The message says Settings, but YouTube connects on Integrations. Connect it there.
“svay cannot publish video to (platform) yet.” Video publishing through scheduling is available for YouTube, X, Instagram and Facebook only.
An account says it needs reconnecting. Its access expired. Reconnect it from Integrations. Platforms expire access from time to time.
