Automations
Send a timed sequence of emails automatically when someone subscribes, gets a tag, or you publish a video.
- Editors and owners
An automation sends a timed sequence of emails without you touching it, such as a welcome series or a follow-up drip. Open Email → Campaigns → Automations and choose New automation.
Build one
Section titled “Build one”Give it a name (“Welcome series”), choose a trigger, and add steps.
Triggers
Section titled “Triggers”| Trigger | Starts when |
|---|---|
| When someone subscribes (any form) | A contact joins through any of your forms. |
| When a tag is added | A contact gets the tag you pick. |
| When a video is published | You publish a video. |
| Manual only | You enrol people yourself. |
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email 1, 2, … | Sends an email. Choose Edit email to design it; it needs a subject line. |
| Wait | Pauses for the time you set. |
| If / then | Branches the sequence on a condition. |
Add an Exit early if rule, such as Contact gets tagged, to stop the sequence when something changes. Press Save automation when you are done, then activate it. You can pause an active automation at any time.
How it behaves
Section titled “How it behaves”- Timing is approximate. Automation steps are processed about every five minutes, so a one-day wait resolves within a few minutes of 24 hours.
- A failed send retries. If an email cannot be sent, the contact stays on that step and Svay tries again after 15 minutes.
- Unsubscribes stop it. A contact who unsubscribes is taken out of every automation at their next step, which can take up to five minutes.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”My automation does not seem to be sending. Check that it is activated, not just saved, and that people have actually triggered it. Delays are approximate. If nothing moves for much longer than the wait, contact support.
Someone received an email twice. Check whether they are enrolled by more than one automation or form.
