Set up your brand
Onboarding
The three-step setup every new workspace goes through, what each step asks for, and what Svay does when you finish.
- Editors and owners
The first time you open a workspace, Svay walks you through setup. It runs once per workspace, and you cannot reach the rest of the app until it is finished. Only editors and owners can complete it. If you were invited as a viewer to a workspace that has not finished setup, ask an owner to complete it or to change your role.
Setup has three steps. Only the first is required.
| Step | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Company profile | Yes | Tells Svay who the brand is. This is what every script, caption and email is written from. |
| 2. Choose a plan | No | Pick a monthly plan, or skip and explore with zero credits. |
| 3. Connect tools | No | Connect Google Drive or Slack so Svay can use your documents and conversations. |
Your progress is saved in your browser, so a refresh or an accidental close does not lose it. It is saved per browser: if you carry on from another computer, you start at step 1 again.
Step 1: Company profile
Section titled “Step 1: Company profile”Start with your website. Paste the address and press Scan. Svay reads the site and fills in what it finds, marking each filled field with an AI-filled badge so you can see what came from the scan.
- Paste your website into Company website and press Scan (or press Enter). The address is optional, but it is the fastest way to a good profile.
- Svay shows its progress through Fetching your site, Reading your pages, Analyzing your brand and Writing your profile. You can keep typing while it works.
- Review every field. Anything Svay filled can be edited, and a scan never overwrites something you typed yourself.
- Press Continue.
If the scan fails or finds little on the site, nothing is blocked. Fill the fields in by hand. If it is still running after three minutes, Svay hands the form back to you and keeps watching for up to ten minutes in total. If the scan finishes while you are still on this step, it fills in any fields you have left empty; it never replaces something you typed.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Company name | ✓ | |
| Industry | ✓ | Technology, Healthcare, Finance & Insurance, Education, Retail & E-commerce, Media & Entertainment, Marketing & Advertising, Legal & Professional Services, Real Estate, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Other. |
| Company size | ✓ | 1–10, 11–50, 51–200, 201–500 or 500+ employees. |
| Content goals | ✓ | Pick at least one: Brand Awareness, Lead Generation, Product Education, Community Building, Thought Leadership, Drive Sales, Customer Retention, Launch a Product. |
| Brand voice | — | For example “practical, founder-led, no hype”. |
| Target audience | — | For example “B2B founders scaling outbound”. |
| Core offer | — | What you sell, in a phrase. |
| Company description | — | What you do, who you serve, what makes you different. |
The four required fields get Svay started, but the optional ones change the output more than you might expect. Brand voice, target audience and core offer shape every script. Everything on this step is editable later in Context.
Step 2: Choose a plan
Section titled “Step 2: Choose a plan”Pick a monthly plan now, or press Skip for now and explore the workspace with zero credits. You can choose a plan later from Credits & billing. Plans, credits and what each plan includes are covered in Credits and billing.
If you pay, you go to Stripe Checkout and come back to setup afterwards. Closing checkout without paying returns you to this step and charges nothing.
Step 3: Connect tools
Section titled “Step 3: Connect tools”Connect a source so Svay can pull real material, such as briefs, brand documents and team context. Two connections work here:
| Tool | What Svay can use |
|---|---|
| Google Drive | Files you choose from your Drive. Connecting only grants access; Svay imports nothing until you pick files in Context. |
| Slack | Approvals, alerts and team context. |
Press Connect, approve access with the provider, and you return to setup with the card marked Connected. The other tools shown on this step are marked as coming soon and cannot be connected from here.
Connecting accounts to publish to (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and others) is separate and lives under Integrations. See Publishing and scheduling.
Press Finish setup or Skip for now to complete onboarding. You can connect everything later.
What happens when you finish
Section titled “What happens when you finish”Svay marks the workspace as set up and takes you to Home. In the background it starts building your content strategy, your research and your market research. You do not have to wait: start creating straight away, and these fill in on their own. There is no progress indicator, so if they do not appear after a while, open Context and check.
Setup spends no credits.
After setup
Section titled “After setup”- A short tour starts the first time you open each main page. Replay it any time from Settings → Product tour.
- A “Getting started” checklist sits at the bottom right of Home with eight steps, such as sending your first instruction, adding company knowledge, connecting a publishing channel and generating your first content. Several tick themselves as you go. Press Hide checklist when you are done with it.
- Choose a theme. If you skipped the wizard, you are asked once to choose Light, Dark or System. You can change it under Settings → Appearance.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The scan never finishes, or the result is wrong. After three minutes Svay tells you it is taking longer than usual, and you can fill the form in by hand. Svay stops waiting after ten minutes; if the scan finishes later, what it found is saved to Context. Fix any field that looks wrong; edits stay.
Continue says you need the editor or owner role. You are a viewer in a workspace that has not finished setup. Ask an owner to finish setup or to make you an editor.
Setup restarted from step 1. Your draft is stored per browser. Re-enter it; pressing Continue overwrites the saved profile.
“We couldn’t finish setup. Please try again.” The final request failed. Check your connection and role, then retry.
Connecting Drive or Slack says it is not configured. Skip the step and connect later from Integrations or Context. If it persists, contact support.
