Core concepts
Workspaces, brands, Context, runs, approval and credits. The few ideas everything else in Svay sits on.
Six ideas explain almost everything in Svay.
Workspace
Section titled “Workspace”A workspace is your account: its people, its connected accounts, its content, its credits and its subscription. You can belong to more than one workspace and switch between them from your account menu in the sidebar. With a single workspace, the switcher stays hidden.
Each workspace holds one brand. The brand owns the Context, the colours and fonts, and the presenter used by its content. Agencies typically use one workspace per client. A founder usually has a single workspace.
If you need a separate company with separate people, connections or billing, that is a separate workspace.
Context
Section titled “Context”Context is what Svay knows about a brand: who it is, who it sells to, how it sounds, what it has said before and what you have corrected. Everything Svay writes starts from it. A thin Context gives generic results.
A brief is what you ask for, in plain language: “a 45-second explainer on why teams should stop buying seats they do not use, punchy, ending on a question.” Context is the voice; the brief is the shape of this one piece.
A run is one generation job, such as a video from script to render. Runs work through named stages and take minutes rather than seconds. You do not need to watch: a run keeps going if you close the tab. See Runs.
Approval
Section titled “Approval”A finished video waits for a person to approve it, and a video can only be scheduled or published after it is approved. Approving a video is a record, not a trigger: scheduling or publishing is a separate step you take. Items in your Inbox work differently: approving one schedules it or starts it. See Publishing and scheduling.
Credits
Section titled “Credits”Making videos and images spends credits. Writing posts, chatting with svay, email, publishing and research do not. Your balance is always visible at the bottom of the sidebar. See Credits and billing.
The whole loop
Section titled “The whole loop”- ContextWhat Svay knows about the brand.
- BriefWhat you want from this one video, in plain language.
- RunScript, voice, presenter and editing, as the video needs.
- SucceededThe video is made. Nothing has left Svay yet.
- ApprovedA person clears it. A record, not a trigger.
- Scheduled / publishedA separate, deliberate step.
Corrections and performance
Two things flow back into Context: the corrections you write when Svay gets something wrong, and the results of what you published. Both change what the next piece looks like.
